  1. I am in the process of taking over a shop at Dennistoun cross. The shopfront is in a serious state of disrepair. I have been told that government grants exist to assist in renovations of this type. Could you advise if you are aware of any such initiatives.

    1. Manjit,

      We’ve looked into this and can tell you the following:

      • Funding for shop fronts improvement was available at Parkhead Cross (linked to conservation area);
      • We are not aware of similar funding in Dennistoun area;
      • Information regarding Dennistoun may be available via the Development Regeneration Services (DRS) department at Glasgow City Council;
      • Depending upon location of shop, and work proposed to be undertaken, the Glasgow City Heritage Trust, based at Bell Street, might offer support;
      • For general funding advice we’d suggest Business Gateway on Buchanan Street.

      Hope this helps.
