Make your own Christmas wreath on Thursday 29th November 2018 (6 – 8 pm) with the help of expert support from Florresters of Duke Street, Dennistoun, who are kindly donating their services to their former school. A great chance to meet people informally, learn a new skill and get into the Christmas spirit.
The Parade Artists Christmas Shopping Week will be held daily from 10am until 4pm, from Saturday 24th November through to Sunday 2nd December at Wasps Studios, 77 Hanson Street, Glasgow G31 2HF. There will be late night opening until 8pm on Thursday 29th November.
The Dennistoun choir is back! After the success of 2017’s In the Beginning, tickets are going on sale for this year’s concert! The choir needed a bigger show-stopping venue so while the show might not be in Dennistoun this year, it’s full of our local performers (based at St Andrew’s East Parish Church on Alexandra Parade for Monday rehearsals)!
MEND is a drop-in workshop in a friendly space where you’ll learn to repair your clothes. Too many mend-able clothes are thrown away, so come along and prolong the life of your favourite jumper.
Glasgow City Council is holding an inquiry into food poverty and inequality across the city and is seeking evidence and views on this important subject.
The Council is aware increasing numbers of people in Glasgow are experiencing difficulties – physically and economically – accessing sufficient, safe and nutritious food. It also knows of a wide range of organisations and charities are responding to those experiencing acute food insecurity – including an established community food sector. It wishes to work with these partners and organisations across Glasgow to ensure the city is operating these responses and services as effectively as possible.
