This is it! The opening ceremony later on today will signal the start of the Games, after more than seven years of planning and painstaking preparations, with the people of Glasgow at their very heart.
Bard in the Botanics is Scotland’s biggest and best-loved festival of Shakespeare. The Engage With Bard scheme is aimed at enabling individuals and community groups in areas in and around the Glasgow City Council wards of Springburn, Shettleston and North East Glasgow to experience Shakespear in Glasgow’s beautiful Botanic Gardens.

Our Big Gig in Dennistoun will showcase the vibrant and diverse musical talent in the local area as part of the Our Big Gig nationwide music festival. The gig takes place on Saturday 12th July at Reidvale Neighbourhood Centre, 13 Whitevale St, Dennistoun, G31 1QW. BBQ and soundtrack will commence from 6pm, with performances taking place from 7pm until 10pm. Entry is free.
