For the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October 2013, artists at the Hanson Street studios will open their doors and showcase a wide variety of work including: painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, glass, papermaking, installation and sculpture.
A popular event both with visitors and artists alike, the open studios weekend is a rare opportunity to see inside an artist’s working space and talk to them directly about what inspires them. Since the event began in 2002, 35,000 visitors have had the chance to meet artists in their studios, chat to them about their work and learn the tricks of a number of different creative trades.
The Factory Cafe will be open throughout. Children can take part in a treasure hunt. Ample car parking space is available. There will also be additional workshops and demonstrations.
