Enjoy singing musical theatre? Want to develop your vocal technique but can’t find the time to commit to a production?
Acquire are hoping to establish an ensemble of around twenty committed members. They are offering the chance to be part of a dynamic choral ensemble without the pressure of a show week deadline.
They’ll aim to perfect harmony, expand vocal ability and explore the meaning of a song, drawing from a range of musical styles, predominantly focusing on musical theatre and acting through song. Acquire is all about creating a positive singing environment where you can learn and grow as a performer and they are currently on the hunt for committed members who are passionate about good singing.
There will be an information evening mid-January, followed by auditions later on in the month.
A free taster session where you can learn more about the company, meet the musical team and get a taste for how a rehearsal will run. This relaxed session will be shorter than a typical rehearsal, running from 8pm until 10pm on Monday 16th January 2017 in St. Andrew’s East Parish Church, 685 Alexandra Parade, Dennistoun, Glasgow G31 3LN. This event is open to everyone and you will have the opportunity to sign up for an audition on the evening.
For auditions you will need to prepare one song of your choice that you feel tells a story. A pianist will be there to accompany you so please bring sheet music. Acquire will also be looking at your ability to sing a simple harmony alongside members of the panel. Don’t worry, this will be taught in the audition. These auditions are a great way for us to get to know you and for you to learn more about Acquire! Auditions will be on the evenings of Monday 23rd and Wednesday 25th January 2017 from 7pm until 10pm.
