On Saturday 23rd July, after a 2 year break, the Alexandra Park Festival and Parade returns! Taking place between 12 noon and 4 pm, with live music, food and market stalls, kids activities, free face painting, free balloon modelling from Balloons Gloria, live wrestling, rides and inflatables. There will also be a fire engine on site for tours, and two vintage buses from the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.

Print Clan CIC will be leading drop in screen-printing sessions where you can have a go and take away a tote bag featuring a special design/collaboration with artist Alice Dansey-Wright. Alice will also be creating/painting a large temporary mural on the day, that all the family can get involved with. Ready, steady, art attack! East End Community Radio will be hosting the stage at the festival and will guarantee day out packed with fun and entertainment. Police Scotland will also be in attendance carrying out bike and vehicle marking for free.

Entry is free.

As part of the festival and to celebrate Scotland’s Year of Stories there will be a ‘Fancy Dress Parade Along The Parade’! Guests are welcome to attend dressed as their favourite fictional character – so dig out those World Book Day costumes or make your own from what you have in the house – and join in!

Everyone is welcome, from individuals and families, to groups large and small. The Fancy Dress Parade leaves City Park at 12 noon, heading along Alexandra Parade, and into Alexandra Park. Check out the amazing costumes and cheer as it passes by!
