Volunteering Opportunities

The Forgotten Island and Giant
The Forgotten Island and Giant

Giant, based on Saltmarket, has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to be involved in: a new temporary, outdoor arts experience which is to be held in Glasgow from 2nd July – 18th September 2011.

Giant has been collaborating with various artists on this project, to help create fun and inspiring environments for children and families to explore.

To ensure the project runs smoothly from start through to completion, it requires a number of volunteers to help assist in the preparation and operation stages of the project. This is a great opportunity to gain relevant experience across a range of disciplines.

Giant is a professional children’s arts organisation and registered Scottish charity. It aims to inspire creativity and imagination in everyone it works with, whether physically, through fantastic events, or virtually, online.

It’s vision is to create inspiring, curious and unexpected arts experiences for children under 12 and their families.

Volunteers in the following roles are being sought: Gardening/Site Maintenance, Information/Guides, Arts Facilitators, Site Preparation Roles. Induction and training will be offered to all volunteers. Travel expenses (public transport) will be covered (the site is close to Partick interchange).

Deadline for applications (PDF form here) is 5pm, Wednesday 8th June 2011. For more information visit www.curiousgiant.org.
