Local Health Walks

Glasgow Health Walks
Glasgow Health Walks

You don’t have to go to a gym to keep fit! Why not join one of the local health walks that are happening across the country? These free, short and friendly walks up to two and a half miles long are led by trained volunteers and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Heather Macleod is the Walk Glasgow co-ordinator who supports the health walks in Glasgow.  She says

“We want to encourage the people of Glasgow to become more active.  Exercise comes in many guises and playing sports or going to the gym is not for everyone.  Walking is a great alternative.  It’s free, can be done locally and no special equipment or facilities are required!  Joining a local health walk is also a great way to meet new people.”

There are currently several walks operating in the East End. One group meets at Glasgow Club Whitehill Pool on Wednesdays at 11:00am and we have others in Townhead, Tolcross and Easterhouse. You don’t need to book in advance, just turn up and join in and new walkers are always welcome!
