It’s exactly six months until the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. Glasgow and Scotland’s biggest-ever festival of sport and culture will then be well underway. And you could be a part of it!
The Games organisers are looking for Up to 3,000 people to be the stars of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
A mass cast recruitment is now on for voluntary cast members to perform at the opening and closing ceremonies to be held at Celtic Park and Hampden Stadium. A global television audience of more than one billion is expected to witness the spectacle.
The content of the Ceremonies is currently a secret, but spectators are assured of
“two evenings of delight and surprise which proudly and playfully reflect the culture of Glasgow and Scotland in a warm, welcoming way”.
Applications to be part of the cast, required for both Ceremonies and some pre-recorded elements, will be accepted until 14 February. Auditions are due to take place in March.
You could be part of Glasgow 2014’s big moments on a global stage if you are:
- aged 18 or over by 1 March 2014;
- available to attend auditions in Glasgow;
- available to rehearse and attend the performance.
All roles are voluntary and no previous experience is required.
