Book Week Scotland is a week-long celebration of books and reading that takes place every November. This year it’s taking place from Monday 23 until Sunday 29 November.
During Book Week, people of all ages and walks of life will come together in libraries, schools, community venues and workplaces to share and enjoy books and reading. They will be joined in this celebration by Scotland’s authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers and illustrators to bring a packed programme of events and projects to life.
There will be two events taking place in Dennistoun during the coming week:
A Brew, a Book and a Banter with Tom Keenan
Wednesday 25th November (15:30 – 16:30)
Join Dennistoun Book Group as they discuss books and reading with Glasgow author Tom Keenan, short listed for the Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger award for his novel The Father.
A Brew, a Book and a Banter with Neil Broadfoot
Thursday 26th November (17:00 – 18:00)
Join Neil Broadfoot former journalist with both national and local newspapers, including The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and the Evening News, covering some of the biggest stories of the day. His first novel Falling Fast, was shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize and the Deanston Crime Book of the Year prize. The Storm is his second novel, and a third will be published in 2016.
