Dennistoun Concervation Society have raised a petition for the prevention of closure of the Duke Street Post Office.
This is in response to the closure of Crown Post Offices (those which are directly owned and operated by Post Office Ltd) in Kilmarnock and Paisley. Duke Street, East Kilbride and Springburn are understood to be next on the list.
It follows the closure in 2013 of the Cubie Street Royal Mail Sorting Office and relocation to the Glasgow South East Delivery Office, three miles away on Fullarton Drive.
