Ever wanted to learn how to grow your own food but not had the chance? Live in a flat with no space to grow? Love to eat healthy food but find it too expensive?
National Gardening Week 2012 runs from 16th to 22nd April and is co-ordinated by the Royal Horticultural Society to get the nation growing and celebrate everything about gardens and gardening. Thousands of people across the country are coming together and getting involved to enjoy, share and celebrate everything about gardens and gardening.
To mark the occasion, Dennistoun Diggers will be opening their community garden throughout the week for people to come and visit and find out more about their space. Have a nosey, offer advice, chat about Guerilla Gardening, sow seeds, pot on, prune, weed… even turn the compost heap if you so desire!
The latest approved minutes, for the December 2011 meeting, have now been uploaded to the Minutes section of the site. and are available for public viewing. As ever, the minutes contain a police report, elected member reports, committee reports, DCC action plan updates, etc.
The Applications section has also been updated with the most recent planning application report – December 2011. This is a handy review of all recent applications relevant to the Dennistoun Community Council Area. Where applicable, brief summary comments are made. On occasion, DCC may submit or support a formal objection to an application.
Dennistoun Diggers are hosting two upcoming craft workshops in the Dennistoun community garden, which promise to be fun for all age groups.
A day of sharing food, music, fun, and plants!
