Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting to revitalise the Save Whitehill Pool campaign last night.
Bill Stark chaired, welcoming new faces and introducing people who provided valuable support back in the early years of the original campaign.
The meeting itself provided great community input, in terms of personal experiences, and hopes for the future over the current closure of Whitehill Pool.
Comments and suggestions will be collated via savewhitehillpool@gmail.com to provide a new Working Group (to be established) with information to assist planning for the way ahead for the campaign.
This information will allow actions to be identified and a new strategy including core aims to be developed, and to increase community involvement.
A specific pool Working Group meeting will be convened in the coming weeks. The next Dennistoun Community Council, meeting is on Tuesday 13th May.
Great – looking forward to supporting a well-coordinated campaign with a dynamic strategy and some highly focussed materials for the groups and individuals we need to reach to get our pool back.
It would also be instructive to look at this critical stage at how other communities have saved their pools down south – different policy / funding environment but most importantly community-driven which is what we are – for ideas on successful strategies, information, inspiration, solidarity, etc.
Absolutely!
